Outline the proposal from discovery notes only
You finished discovery. The proposal is due. Blank page syndrome shows up dressed as "I need one more call."
You finished discovery. The proposal is due. Blank page syndrome shows up dressed as "I need one more call."
This hack: twenty-five minutes, discovery notes only, outline the proposal. Sections, bullets, open questions. Polish is a later block. Outline now.
When to use it
- Discovery notes exist (call notes, form answers, workshop board).
- You know the offer shape well enough to outline without inventing scope.
- You have twenty-five minutes before context cools.
When not to
- You still lack a problem statement the buyer agreed to. Get that first.
- Pricing is unclear and you are tempted to guess in the outline. Leave price as [TBD - human].
- This is an RFP with mandatory section map. Use the RFP map hack instead.
Do this (timer on)
- 1. Paste discovery notes into a doc.
- 2. Run the outline prompt with your standard proposal sections.
- 3. Mark every invented claim as [VERIFY]. Delete unverified fluff.
- 4. List open questions at the bottom - do not hide them.
- 5. Stop at outline. Do not write full prose in this block.
Prompt (copy)
Create a proposal OUTLINE (not full prose) from discovery notes.
Sections:
1. Problem in their words
2. Desired outcomes
3. Proposed approach (phases)
4. What we need from them
5. Timeline shape (no fake dates)
6. Commercials placeholder [HUMAN PRICES]
7. Open questions
Rules:
- Bullet form only
- Quote or paraphrase their language for the problem
- Do not invent case studies, logos, or metrics
- Flag gaps as [NEED INPUT]
