Build a one-pager from form answers before the call
Discovery calls waste time re-asking the form. Use what they already gave you.
Discovery calls waste time re-asking the form. Use what they already gave you.
This hack: twenty minutes, form answers to a one-pager brief before the call.
When to use it
- A discovery call is booked.
- Form or questionnaire answers exist.
- You can spend twenty minutes preparing.
When not to
- No form answers. Do light public research only; don't invent.
- The call is a demo they already scoped. Different prep.
- You're over-preparing to avoid starting the call. Cap at twenty.
Do this (timer on)
- 1. Paste form answers.
- 2. Build brief: goals, constraints, unknowns, questions to ask.
- 3. Bring the one-pager to the call. Don't read it robotically.
Prompt (copy)
Build a discovery prep one-pager from form answers.
Sections:
- Who they are (from form only)
- Stated goals
- Constraints / stack hints
- Risks / oddities
- Questions I should ask (max 8)
- Hypotheses labeled as guesses
Do not invent company facts.
