Cluster last retro notes into three themes

Retro boards fill with sticky notes. Then nothing. Themes turn noise into one experiment.

Retro boards fill with sticky notes. Then nothing. Themes turn noise into one experiment.

This hack: fifteen minutes, last retro notes, three themes, one candidate experiment. Skip the nostalgia tour.

When to use it

  • You have raw retro notes or a board export.
  • The team expects a follow-up.
  • You can pick one experiment to propose.

When not to

  • The retro hasn't happened. Don't fabricate themes.
  • Leadership wants blame charts. Refuse that job.
  • Notes are mostly venting without facts. Ask for one example each before clustering.

Do this (timer on)

  1. 1. Paste retro notes.
  2. 2. Cluster into three themes with the prompt.
  3. 3. Attach one example quote/note per theme.
  4. 4. Propose one small experiment for the top theme.
  5. 5. Send to the team for a yes/no.

Prompt (copy)

Cluster these retro notes into exactly three themes.

For each theme:
- Name (3-5 words)
- What it means in plain English
- 2 example notes
- One small experiment (1 week, reversible)

Do not invent notes. Do not moralize.
