Cut one LinkedIn post from a long piece you already wrote
You already wrote the long thing. The feed still needs a short thing. Starting from zero is how drafts die in Drive.
You already wrote the long thing. The feed still needs a short thing. Starting from zero is how drafts die in Drive.
This hack: fifteen minutes, one existing long draft, one LinkedIn-ready cut. Reuse. Do not invent a new thesis.
When to use it
- You have a newsletter, blog, or doc with a clear point.
- You need one social post today, not a content calendar.
- You can name the audience in one line.
When not to
- The long piece is still a messy outline. Finish or abandon it first.
- You want a viral hook more than an honest cut. Skip the hack; go write fiction elsewhere.
- Legal or client approval is pending on the source. Wait.
Do this (timer on)
- 1. Paste the long piece (or the best section) into a note.
- 2. Run the prompt for a single post with one idea.
- 3. Cut anything that needs the full article to make sense.
- 4. Add one specific example from the source. Post or schedule.
Prompt (copy)
Cut ONE LinkedIn post from this long draft.
Rules:
- One idea only
- 120-180 words
- Operator peer voice, plain English
- No fake stats, no "useful change," no engagement bait questions at the end
- End with a soft pointer to the fuller piece OR a single practical next step
- Do not invent examples that are not in the source
