Bucket client feedback into scope, bug, or taste
Feedback arrives as a blob. Panic follows. Buckets first: scope vs bug vs taste.
Feedback arrives as a blob. Panic follows. Buckets first: scope vs bug vs taste.
This hack: fifteen minutes, sort the blob before you rewrite everything.
When to use it
- A client sent a batch of revision notes.
- Delivery needs a plan for what changes.
- You can tell the difference between defect and preference.
When not to
- Feedback is a single clear bug. Just fix it.
- Relationship is escalating to conflict. Manager joins.
- You're sorting to dismiss taste as illegitimate. Taste can still be in-scope.
Do this (timer on)
- 1. Paste feedback items.
- 2. Tag each: scope / bug / taste / question.
- 3. Propose handling for each bucket.
- 4. Reply with the sorted plan.
Prompt (copy)
Sort client feedback into buckets.
Buckets: scope change | bug/defect | taste/preference | clarifying question
For each item: bucket, why, proposed response (fix / change order / push back / ask)
Do not invent items.
