Ask one happy client for a short quote
You keep meaning to ask for a testimonial. Then the moment passes. One clear ask beats a campaign.
You keep meaning to ask for a testimonial. Then the moment passes. One clear ask beats a campaign.
This hack: ten minutes, one happy client, one short quote ask. Accept silence.
When to use it
- A client just had a real win you both noticed.
- You have permission norms to ask.
- You can use a quote in a specific place (site, proposal).
When not to
- The relationship is shaky. Don't ask.
- Procurement forbids public quotes. Ask for a private reference instead.
- You're mass-emailing everyone. One ask, one person.
Do this (timer on)
- 1. Name the win in their language.
- 2. Draft a short ask with an easy yes path (2-3 sentence quote or 10-min call).
- 3. Send. Calendar a polite single bump in two weeks if needed - then stop.
Prompt (copy)
Write a short social-proof ask email.
Rules:
- Remind them of a specific win (from my notes)
- Ask for 2-3 sentences OR offer a 10-min call where I draft for their edit
- Make no the easy path
- No guilt. No discount bait.
- Do not invent results.
