Hack ยท try today
Write support-facing notes before customers yell
Releases ship. Support learns from angry tickets. Flip it: support-facing notes before the unlock.
Releases ship. Support learns from angry tickets. Flip it: support-facing notes before the unlock.
This hack: ten minutes, today's release, support-facing notes.
When to use it
- A release ships today (or soon).
- Support will field questions.
- You know what changed at a high level.
When not to
- You don't know what shipped. Get the changelog first.
- It's a silent internal refactor with no user impact. Say that in one line.
- Security disclosure rules constrain wording. Follow them.
Do this (timer on)
- 1. Paste changelog bullets.
- 2. Rewrite for support: what users see, likely questions, known issues, links.
- 3. Post in support channel before release lands for customers.
Prompt (copy)
Rewrite this changelog into support-facing notes.
Include:
- What changed in user language
- Likely questions + suggested answers
- Known issues / workarounds
- Escalation path
- Links
Do not invent features.
