Clear the VIP lane. Ignore the rest on purpose.
Inbox zero for everything is a lifestyle. Inbox zero for VIPs is an operator move. You already know who can create real damage or real opportunity if you leave them waiting.

This hack: ten minutes, VIP list only, clear or schedule. Everyone else stays until your real triage block. Guilt is not a priority system.
When to use it
- You have a short VIP list (clients, boss, key partners) already named.
- You have ten minutes between meetings.
- Unread count is loud but most of it is noise.
When not to
- You have never named VIPs. Take two minutes and list five to ten people or domains first.
- You are using this to avoid a hard reply. Schedule the hard one; don't hide it.
- Support or on-call is actually yours right now. That is a queue, not VIP email.
Do this (timer on)
- 1. Filter inbox to VIP senders or a VIP label only.
- 2. For each message: reply, schedule a reply block, or file with a dated next step.
- 3. Do not open non-VIP mail in this block.
- 4. When the timer ends, close the inbox. Non-VIP waits.
Prompt (copy)
I will paste VIP emails. For each, output:
1) Reply now (draft 3-5 sentences) OR Schedule (suggest a 15-min block purpose) OR File (one-line next step + date)
2) Urgency: today / this week / parking
3) Do not invent facts, commitments, or prices.
VIP EMAILS:
