Hack ยท try today

Paste the repeated Slack answer into a wiki FAQ draft

You answered it in Slack. Again. Search still fails. The answer evaporates in scrollback.

You answered it in Slack. Again. Search still fails. The answer evaporates in scrollback.

This hack: ten minutes, one repeated answer, one FAQ draft in the wiki. Stop being the search engine.

When to use it

  • You (or someone) answered the same question twice or more.
  • You have a wiki, Notion, or help doc home.
  • The answer is stable enough to publish.

When not to

  • The answer changes weekly. Link to the owner instead of freezing bad truth.
  • It includes private customer data. Redact or skip.
  • You don't own the doc space. Draft and @ the owner to publish.

Do this (timer on)

  1. 1. Copy the Slack answer and the original question.
  2. 2. Run the prompt into FAQ form with a clear title.
  3. 3. Paste as draft in the wiki. Tag #faq.
  4. 4. Drop the wiki link back into the Slack thread.

Prompt (copy)

Turn this Slack Q&A into a wiki FAQ entry.

Output:
- Title (as a question)
- Short answer (first)
- Steps if needed
- When this does NOT apply
- Owner / last updated placeholders

Keep plain English. Do not invent policy.
